Last June

Last June, we wrote here on the blog about the ground being laid for the Korea Startup Center to be opened in Stockholm. Epicenter in Stockholm is now hosting the KSC-office and are responsible for an exciting accelerator program for Korean startups looking to use Stockholm as a foothold to grow global.

The program began with an initial intensive ten days for 22 chosen companies. Eventually half of them are chosen to participate in a further 10 weeks of development hard work.

We recently received several of the 22 hopefuls at the home of the Swedish Ambassador in Seoul and took part of their exciting stories. They all had strong and promising stories, not to mention they were all friendly and inspiring individuals!

Today, eleven of them have been chosen for the longer program that is about to start in October, and we introduce them to you here. Considering how exciting all 22 companies were, I do not envy those that had to reduce the group to half! I have great faith in all companies.

The Corona pandemic have wreaked havoc with plans for all of us, also for these unicorns-to-be. Instead of traveling to Stockholm, Epicenter have adapted the program to new realities. But the future is not waiting for anyone, work has already begun for these South Korean unicorns that will be growing in Stockholm, once they can travel 😉

Great and exciting things will keep happening around the K-Startup Center in Stockholm so stay tuned!
